How a cartoon is produced
Finishing
One of the pleasures of cartooning is that it's relatively low tech; an idea isn't choosy about which pen or pencil it comes from and some of my finest ideas have been developed on the back of envelopes or bank statements.
Many cartoonists also finish work by hand, but I prefer to use a computer because it's possible to introduce a greater variety of effects and to change things at speed. Finally, of course, working on a Mac makes it much easier to email work to clients - vital, if I'm up against a deadline.
